We had a great experience renting a car with Iceland Car Rental. Renting a car in Iceland can be confusing with all the different insurances, but this company made it really straightforward, so it was easy to understand exactly what was included in the price I was paying.
Picking up and returning the car was really fast and easy. The staff were also very helpful when we had a problem with my partner losing his photographic driving licence a few days before our rental was due to start. More

Be sure to check the car for any damages before you leave and let the staff know if something is not included in rental agreement. Although we encountered several snafus with our rental, the provided very good customer service and worked with us to more than fairly compensate us for the issues the arose. We also liked that we could get our vehicle in Reykjavik rather than having to go back to the airport, and they offered hotel pickup service. We were also able to drop the vehicle off in Reykjavik rather than at the airport. We also liked that we could get full coverage, no deductibles for an additional fee - most of the other agencies had deductibles. More

We had a great experience with Iceland Car Rental. The manager examined the entire car, marking all faults very carefully so we wouldn't be charged for damage we didn't incur. The vehicle itself ran well and got us everywhere we needed to go, even on some gravel roads. Drop off was a breeze. More

Great experience! I accidentally made a reservation for a month earlier than my trip. When I arrived, they told me they only charged 10% of my rental, and allowed me to use that credit towards another rental. The car I got was in generally good condition; 2-3 years used and 60,000 kms on it. Drove without issue and even had heated seats! The service was fast and polite. Their branch is walking distance from KEF but there is a shuttle to assist when carrying luggage. More

Nous avons été contraints, à 1h00 du matin, de prendre un supplément d'assurance de 120 € car notre carte Visa Premier n'était pas une carte de crédit mais de débit. (Pensez à vérifier la votre avant de partir) Mais nous avons eu droit à un véhicule de classe supérieure ( Dacia 4x4 au lieu du Suzuki), c'était nettement plus confortable. Aussi après avoir rendu la voiture, en guise de cadeau, une carte de l'Islande nous a été offerte. (Elle nous sera bien utile quand nous reviendrons, il faut bien avouer que 5 jours c'est bien trop court pour découvrir le pays) Enfin à notre retour, nous avons eu la surprise de voir le remboursement du supplément de 120€ sur notre relevé de compte !! Du coup rien à redire et plutôt satisfaits de la prestation reçue d'Iceland rent a car ! More
