Roomy, flexible cabin

Inside, the Proace runs three passenger rows (3-3-3) behind the driver, so eight passengers ride together with proper legroom and good outward visibility. The cabin is sensibly laid out and easy to keep tidy between stops. Climate control extends through the whole interior, keeping temperatures even for everyone. The seats are supportive for long days and the big windows make Iceland’s scenery part of the experience.

Practical luggage space

With all nine seats in use, the boot comfortably fits around 3–4 large suitcases plus a few soft bags. Need more capacity? Fold the rear bench to open a longer, flatter load bay for bulkier items (tripods, duffels, groceries). For groups travelling with lots of hard cases, a roof box is a smart add-on. The square opening and low sill make packing quick when the wind picks up.

Despite its size, the Proace is straightforward to drive. The automatic transmission takes the effort out of city hops and stop-start traffic near attractions, while the efficient 2.0-litre engine delivers steady torque for hills and headwinds without fuss. On Iceland’s paved roads and well-maintained gravel routes, the Proace tracks securely and keeps road noise in check so conversation stays easy.

You get the essentials groups actually use: Bluetooth, USB/AUX ports, and smartphone integration for maps and playlists. There’s also a 12 V outlet for powering accessories. Where you can drive

The Proace is approved for all paved roads and well-maintained gravel routes nationwide—perfect for the Golden Circle, South Coast, Snæfellsnes and long Ring Road sections. Safety & seasonal setup

The Proace includes the safety fundamentals you expect for group travel: ABS, stability control, multiple airbags and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. We fit tyres for the season—winter tyres from November to April for plowed winter roads, and quality summer tyres the rest of the year. As always in Iceland, drive to conditions: slow down on gravel, increase following distances in wind or rain and allow extra time in winter.
