Expect smooth, instant acceleration and confident handling from the rear-wheel drive powertrain. Under ideal conditions the Model Y can achieve up to ~560 km on a single charge; in typical Icelandic weather and mixed driving, plan around a real-world range near ~455 km. Regenerative braking helps stretch your range, and the automatic single-speed transmission keeps every journey relaxed—whether you’re navigating Reykjavík or cruising coastal highways.

Interior comfort & practicality

Inside, the Model Y comfortably seats up to five with excellent legroom and a bright, airy feel thanks to the panoramic glass roof. Heated seats add welcome warmth on cooler days, while the 15-inch touchscreen centralizes navigation, climate, and media. Charging & rental guidelines (important)

• Battery level: Your Tesla Model Y will be delivered with 70%–100% charge and must be returned with at least 70%. Returns below 70% incur a 25,000 ISK fee.

• Cable & fees: A Type 2 charging cable is included for AC charging. If the cable is lost or damaged, a replacement fee applies.

• Where to charge: Iceland has a robust public charging network. A QR code inside the car provides a list of recommended stations to help plan your route and stops.

Tech & features

Where you can drive

The Model Y is perfect for paved roads and well-maintained gravel routes including the Ring Road, Golden Circle, South Coast, and Snæfellsnes. As a RWD electric SUV, it is not permitted on F-roads or highland tracks. Always check road and weather updates before long drives, especially in winter.
